This antique French marcasite buckle makes a stunning little necklace. Mounted on brown leather and finished with grey leather on the back side. Faceted natural pyrite and gold hematite beads catch even more light, with vintage brass spacers between. The pendant measures about 1.5x3 inches. The skinny leather cord measures about 18 inches around, with tied ends and lobster clasp closure.

JEWELRY: My favorite metal is antiqued brass. All of my jewelry contains some brass, and occasionally sterling silver as well. Over time, some metal elements may develop a deeper tone. A gentle buffing with a jewelry polishing cloth will revive the luster and golden or silver highlights. Lay the piece flat on a towel, secure the metal part firmly with one hand, and buff the surface using gentle pressure.
SCARVES: All of my antique fabrics are laundered before being sewn. The scarves may be hand washed. Use a small amount of mild soap in lukewarm water. Roll in a towel to remove excess water, and dry flat. Press lightly with a warm iron.
