Long scarf with vintage Japanese Tsumugi silk and antique American cotton. The silk is circa 1960s, and features a woven checkerboard pattern in red, black and chartreuse. It is paired with a woven cotton print from the 1920s. The two fabrics meld beautifully. Both have a slight crisp hand. I strive not to waste even a scrap of these precious fabrics, with the charming imperfections. The scarf measures 68x6.5 inches, and is long enough to wrap.

JEWELRY: My favorite metal is antiqued brass. All of my jewelry contains some brass, and occasionally sterling silver as well. Over time, some metal elements may develop a deeper tone. A gentle buffing with a jewelry polishing cloth will revive the luster and golden or silver highlights. Lay the piece flat on a towel, secure the metal part firmly with one hand, and buff the surface using gentle pressure.
SCARVES: All of my antique fabrics are laundered before being sewn. The scarves may be hand washed. Use a small amount of mild soap in lukewarm water. Roll in a towel to remove excess water, and dry flat. Press lightly with a warm iron.
